2009 Bronze Medal Winner | Roasted Coffee | Coffee Bean | Espresso Beans | Coffee Blends | Great Coffee

Ethica Coffee beans have been sourced in an ethical and sustainable manner direct from the individual growers. We pay our farmers a premium rate. Without the involvement of middle men such as buyers, exporters, importers, traders or co-ops etc., our farming communities are able to reap the benefits .

Some of the worlds finest coffee is grown close to the equator in the nutrient rich soil. Because of the rugged terrain and steep mountain sides you wont find any large coffee plantations or farm machinery here. Instead small coffee gardens up 200 trees dot the mountain sides and valley floor. Due to the mild days and cold nights (a climate common to such high altitude) Ethica Coffee Beans have very slowly developed to maturity. All our coffee is grown as nature intended free of any chemicals and under shade trees. Harvested by hand the cherries are pulped allowed to ferment, then washed and sun dried. This labour intensive practise yields a smaller but superior crop. We believe that by paying a premium rate we are rewarding the farmers and encouraging ethical and sustainable farming methods.

Ethica Coffee | 2009 Bronze Medal Winner (Golden Bean) | Roasted Coffee | Coffee Bean | Espresso Beans | Coffee Blends | Great Coffee

Our High Altitude, 100% Arabica Coffee beans are sourced exclusively from a region located high in the foothills of Mount Michael - a virtually inaccessible, remote region. Due to a collapsed bridge and deteriorated roads last seasons crop had to be carried by these farmers 18 - 28 kilometres to a point of sale from where 4 x 4 vehicles could transport the coffee to the mills.

Through purchasing Ethica Coffee you are directly contributing toward improving the quality of life for the farmers, their families and community . International Aid doesn't impact their lives. These farming communities don't want charity just a realistic price paid direct to them for their coffee can provide for their health and education ............... what a difference we can make through DIRECT TRADE !
